This project responds to a shift in the way a consultancy understands its workspace, moving from compartmentalized offices on the first floor to an open space at street level, shared with the company Nationale Nederlanden. The challenge was to corporately recognize the space, allowing the coexistence of both operators, and design a central dividing piece (the centipede) in record time, with a minimal budget, and without disrupting work activities.
The centipede has an elongated body and a metallic, pointed skin formed by 128 folds. Despite its name, the centipede can have a variable number of legs, ranging from 30 to 382. The centipede always has an odd number of pairs of legs; no centipede has exactly 100 legs.
